| Target for 2007/2008: | This is a year I have been dreaming about, and Im so excited and nervous that it is here. More then anything, I want to be an Olympian. I have set other goals for myself, maybe more to keep my sanity then anything else. I want to run in World Indoor Champs, and finish well (top 6?!) and to set some PB’s. |
| Long Term Goals: | Time wise, I want to break 15min in the 5000m, I would really like a faster 1500m PR and I would like to set the Canadian 5000m record. |
| Favorite Race Event: | The 3000m. I feel it is quite sad they don't have too many of these anymore. |
| Favorite Training Venue: | Morgantown WV. There is nothing to compare with having a great training of motivated, fun and hardworking team. |
| Favorite Training Session: | Monday nights are usually our big workouts. To me they are like races. I get nervous and the whole group gets really intense about them. They are what give me the confidence and test my strength. The workouts change from 800-mile repeats anywhere from 5-10 reps usually with minimal rest. |
| Least Favorite Training Session: | Hmm I am not really sure what it would be but I know that anything when I am not focused is torturous. |
| Favorite NB running shoe: | Training shoe would be the W754WG in narrow, racing flat would be the W833WB, (so light!), and spikes are the LDS1005W. |
| Favorite Meal, Night Before the Race: | Salmon. Always. I love it. |
| Favorite Pre-Race Meal: | This depends what time I am racing but usually I am not too picky. I love oatmeal, and eggs. |
| Favorite Post-Race Meal: | Again it depends when we raced and where we are. Usually we are away so I like to taste some traditional or famous food from where we are. |
| Why Do You Run? | I love it. Everything about it. I love the Monday night hard workouts that make me hobble through cool down (those are the best days). I love escaping for a run when I want to be by myself and letting all emotions out. I love to race, I am a very competitive person and get so excited for big races. I love meeting up for Sunday long runs with the group. Like all athletes I love to work hard and I know that if I didn't run I would be completely insane. |
| Tips for New Runners: | Do not ever be embarrassed! Breaking a run up with walking breaks is fine- it's good. You are much better off staying consistent and allowing your body to adjust to this new activity then binge with it. |
