Anne's Story:
Anne, a retired elementary school reading specialist, has been married to Chuck for 40 years. They have 2 children – Carrie and Rob – and they are all huge race supporters.
She first participated in the Komen National Race for the Cure in 1998. She is co-captain of her team with her daughter and each year the team grows.
A member of the Survivor Committee, Anne has hosted Rally for the Cure golf tournaments for the past 5 years to raise money for Komen. She also volunteers at various events.
One reason she continues to be involved with the race: the first year, she and her friend were walking slowly up Capitol Hill. They turned around expecting to see a few people behind them but instead saw a sea of faces and thousands of pink shirts – all joining together to win the fight against breast cancer.
